2021 GAMES Have been cancelled

Inlight of the Governor’s press conference on Friday, July 23,2021 and the extremely high rate of new COVID cases in Louisiana,  the Executive Board has voted to cancel the 2021 Games. This decision was based on the 208% per capita increase in cases in Louisiana, making our state Number 1 in the nation.

I was informed late last week the Jefferson Parish President would follow the Governor’s orders, leading us to believe that all State facilities including Jefferson Parish facilities would require masks, starting today July 26.  As always the safety and well  being of the participants, Event Coordinators, and volunteers is our first priority.

The organization will hopefully meet in the coming weeks to begin preparation for the 2022 games.

As always, should you have any questions feel free to call me.

We have changed our name

In an effort to standardize all Senior Games Organizations across the U.S., the National Organization has requested that all state and local organizations have "Senior Games" in their name as opposed to "Senior Olympics". Our new name is Greater New Orleans Senior Games.

While our name has changed we will continue to provide the same services that have been so popular with our participants and offer new ones as needed.

Tell a Friend

It is with a heavy heart that we must inform everyone of the passing of Bernice Bordelon on November 4th, 2022.
